Dundee Flower and Food Festival

On Saturday I headed to Camperdown Park to another festival however this one didn’t require my army jacket or a glittery face!  Scott and I managed to bag ourselves Saturday tickets to the Dundee Flower and Food Festival so thought we would go and check it out.

We started off in the food demo tent where Duncan McLachlan head chef of Playfairs Restaurant  was showing us how to make a mussel and flatbread dish – which looked and smelt deeeliiciouss.

My favourite thing about the demonstration was that by the end of it I actually felt like it was a dish I would manage to make at home and he even provided a recipe card for everyone to keep!

If you can read the recipe give it a try but if not/you cant be bothered just head to the restaurant order a large glass of wine and let the chefs do all the hard work instead!

We then went for a look around all the stalls which I loved.  If you know me you will already be aware that I am a complete sucker when it comes to markets or stalls.  For example I bought three scotch eggs just because I thought the display looked cute!

There were lots of different stalls selling everything from Gin to clootie dumpling!

And then of course there were beautiful flowers and flower displays everywhere

And some not so beautiful…

Followed by gigantic vegetables

Looking at all these huge vegetables was hungry work so we headed to see what the food was on offer.

Nutella and strawberry pancakes won my vote

An oooeey googeeyy delicious chocolateyy mess enjoyed while listening to some live music.

We finished off exploring what was left to see which included woodwork, ferrets and a horse – random but cute

And right before we were about to leave Scott won ยฃ20 by picking the only purple tipped nail out of a choice off 600 – which accidentally fell in to my purse

I would recommend heading to the Dundee Flower and Food show next year its  a great day out for all ages with plenty to see, buy and eat!
